Radhimë
Radhimë, Albania
Radhimë sits quietly on the edge of the Vlorë Bay, a narrow pebble beach with calm, clear water and an unobstructed view of the Karaburun Peninsula directly opposite. It is one of the least crowded spots on the Albanian Riviera — a place where the pace slows down and the landscape does most of the talking.
The Beach
The shoreline at Radhimë is made up of smooth, rounded pebbles that give way to clean, transparent water within a few steps. The bay is naturally sheltered, which keeps the surface calm even on windier days — ideal for swimming, floating or simply sitting at the edge of the water as the light changes over the Karaburun hills. Sunsets here, with the peninsula silhouetted against the darkening sky, are among the quietest and most unhurried on the entire coast.
Where the Two Seas Meet
Radhimë sits at one of the most geographically significant points in the Adriatic and Ionian region. The Karaburun Peninsula, visible directly across the bay, marks the precise line where the Adriatic Sea to the north gives way to the Ionian to the south. On a clear day this boundary is almost visible — the water changes colour and texture at the cape, a detail that makes even a quiet afternoon on the beach feel like something more than just a beach.
Getting There
Radhimë is located approximately 10 kilometres south of Vlorë city along the coastal road, about a two-hour drive from Tirana. The road runs close to the shore for much of the approach, offering views of the bay before you arrive. The village itself is small and unhurried, with a handful of local guesthouses and restaurants serving fresh seafood from the bay.
